It is seen as fundamental for Egyptian products to be exported to European markets, yet businessmen accuse the concerned Egyptian authorities of not doing enough to raise their awareness on this issue. It is applied to some specific products, and is released after several procedures are carried out showing those products conform to EU safety provisions. It was introduced when different European national legislations on the safety of products were unified. Now, it is very difficult for something to be exported to the EU without this mark. For this reason, many Egyptian businessmen believe it is fundamental for them to be made acquainted with these provisions and procedures, so that they may have better chances to export Egyptian products to EU countries.
