Fires have recently increased at industrial facilities in the governorates and new cities. In some cases, disasters reoccur in the same factories some months later as happened in the factories and stores of the Oriental Weavers in 10th of Ramadan district that caught fire in October and February. Business Today opens the file of the industrial safety particularly as many facilities ignore providing the necessary instruments, taking their high cost as an excuse especially in the medium and small-sized projects. Some people say that investors‘ lack of enthusiasm to provide these means is not only attributed to their high price, but to the unavailability of qualified human cadres to use them. Others say that the market is rife with faux fire extinguishing tools and devices that do not meet the standard qualifications. These tools and devices are only observed after the disaster occurs. There are people who lay the blame on officials at the industrial security agencies due to their failure to carry out inspections and tighten the control of places selling the safety equipment, as well as the factories to be assured of their validity and whether or not they conform to the specifications.(Available in Arabic \u2013 German in PDF )

Economist Dr Mohamed Saeed stated that health and professional safety legislation included injuries sustained at work and their links to the industrial security procedures at the facility. These articles were endorsed into the social insurance law. It has become necessary for the company owners to look into these laws and commit to providing the necessary means of rescue at the facilities as the protection of workers is a significant element of the industrial security. Dr. Nader Riad, Chairman of Bavaria Group for Fire Extinguishers and head of the Egyptian-German Business Council and chairman of the engineering commodities committee at the Consumer Protection Agency, said that the importance of providing means of fire protection and having functioning industrial security system in buildings and the various industrial facilities is no longer a controversial issue.<\/p>\n<\/div>
