The Economic Criminal Court in Alexandria sentenced a fine and confiscation for the owner of extinguishers company , its Nick name is Fredix, as he cheats and counterfeits the design models of extinguishers which belong to a famous industrial company in Egypt in complicity and participation with a Chinese company which produces the head of the fire extinguisher with counterfeit and fraud and exported them to in Egypt . They imagine that it is possible to escape from responsibility by cheating citizens and an exposing their lives and property at risk and in violation of intellectual property rights.(Available in Arabic \u2013 German in PDF)
\nThe judgment m which is the first of its kind , was issued by the Judge , Montaser Abdul Salam Rabei and the membership of the two judges Salah Eldin Ahmed and Hassan Ali Hassan in case No. 686 of 2009 which imposed Farid Micahel the owner of Fredix Company 10 thousand pounds as a fine and five thousand and one pounds as temporarily civil compensation with confiscation of all counterfeited products. The events of the case dating back to August 2007, when a force the General Directorate for the Investigation of Supply in coordination with the Supply Investigation in Alexandria and the engineers of discovered a factory in AL Labban in Alexandria including a large amounts a set of counterfeit extinguishers heads, as well as machinery and equipment used in the assembly of those components. Investigations confirmed that the accused person send a set of original extinguisher head of one of the famous companies in Egypt in which its design is registered in its name in Egypt, locally and globally, to China in complicity and participation with a Chinese company according to the Law on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights No. 82 of 2002 in order to be imitated and manufactured in China for his own and he installed them his factory in Alexandria and put up them for trading in market. The prosecution sent a sample of the original head and the counterfeited head to the Commercial Registry Department which verifies that the accused person counterfeited and cheated the original industrial model in violation of the intellectual property rights and consumer protection.<\/p>\n<\/div>
